Unique Senior and Family Images by Karen Savignon Photographer
Hello!
5- one of my passions is traveling, I have been in 19 countries and my list to go still long. been in 4 continents and I have been 3 countries at the same time wanna know which ones? I'll tell you when I meet you ;) In most of the cases my sister has been my partner. Loving photography and travel i had a slr camera, 3 lens and lots of film rolls, my pocket always suffer after developing tons of rolls, finally on 2004 during a trip to Asia I got my first dslr camera, but still took lots of pics with the film one, just in case the digital didn't work LoL figure out!
4- One of the scariest thing in my life was jumping from a 32 ft tall cliff!! thanks to my brother, no, he didn't push me but he took us to a canyoning adventure.
3- I did my first photo session when I was in 3rd grade, I remember that I always beg my mom to let me use her camera and take pictures, but she always said NO you can mess them up, so after a summer trip my mom when to the store develop a lot of films, yes, films, and because she had taken a lot of rolls the store keeper gave her a black and white film. Since she wasn't gonna use it, she told me "here Karen you can take pictures with this film" I was so excited that I ask my brother and sister to go with me to the park so I could do their session!!
2- I have a degree in Music Education (Piano was my major Instrument). Growing up, never in my mind though that I will be a music teacher (I wanted be a graphic designer), but God has his own ways, I don't regret it because of I'm where I am now. I worked 12 years on a private school, during that time I was in love with travel & photography so I took a photography class, but still in film, later on with the freedom that the digital camera gave me I start taking pictures at the school for the yearbook, that did gave me the opportunity to work more with high school students. Starting the school year 2007-2008 the seniors to start asking, begging me to take their Senior Portraits, I so glad that they did!! After that, my life took another direction, the direction that I always wanted!
1- Last but not least, I love my family, my friends and the most God. I could not be where I am with out any of them. And of course, would love to be your friend too!! That's what I love about portrait photography! I would love to know you and capture the beauty and unique way you and your love ones are.
A special thanks to my friend Gisela Prishker for taking my pictures. Check her work www.giselaprishker.com
